At the Beth TikvahCongregation Early Childhood Center, we provide an environment where children and families are accepted for who they are, and respected for their differences.Children are the center of our motivation for learning, growing, developing, and socializing, and in a way that is developmentally appropriate, fosters independence of skills and values the individuality of each child. We encourage children to take their individual learning to the next level by providing different stages of challenges that offer appropriate difficulty to individual children. We include the children’s interests and questions into our curriculum, offering opportunities for curiosity and exploration, and maintaining an environment in which the children feel loved and secure. Through social action projects, stories, discussions, and most importantly, teachable moments, we work together to instill “mensch-like” values in the children, and help them understand what it means to be and act as a good person. At Beth Tikvah, we want the children to have a knowledge of Jewish holidays, traditions and culture, and we also strive for the children to understand the “deeper” morals and messages of certain biblical stories and how those morals/messages are relatable to the children’s lives.  The director and teachers are seen as extensions of the parenting unit as we work together to ensure that each child is being loved, nurtured, challenged and valued in a consistent manner between home and school. We believe that effective communication with children, families, and staff is critical in developing strong and meaningful relationships between every member of the preschool family.

To ensure the quality of our program, we hold and maintain an Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) license, a State of Illinois Food and Sanitation licensed employee, and First Aid and CPR certified staff.
