Second Grade Hebrew Description and Learning Updates

Class Description: 

• Focus on the foundations of Hebrew
• Recognition of Letters and Vowels
• Develop Hebrew decoding skills
• Learn Key Hebrew phrases and expressions
• Modern Hebrew Conversation skills
• Students learn the aleph-bet and decoding skills from key cultural words and concepts.
• Students hear how vowels and letters combine into syllables, words, and sentences that they can recognize and understand.
• They mark their progress using an Interactive CD-ROM program

Prayer Curriculum

Tefilah Goal: Each grade level will be introduced to two new prayers in the service. They will learn how to recite the prayer, understand its meaning, and when it occurs in the service.

Second Grade:
• Barchu
•  Yotzer, and Mariv Aravim (First Blessing and Chatimah only)
• Brachot for Shabbat
• Introduce Mah Nishtanah
