Kolan Beth Tikvah - Youth Choirs
Youth Choirs of Beth Tikvah Congregation
Cantorial Soloist Ilana Axel works with the children’s choirs at Beth Tikvah on a regular basis.
The goals of Kolan Beth Tikvah include:
1. Fun way to enrich knowledge of Jewish culture by learning and performing Jewish vocal music.
2. Participating in synagogue worship, programming, and educational events.
3. Enhancing use of Jewish languages, including Hebrew, English, Yiddish and Ladino.
4. Nurturing a singing community of Jewish children who care for each other.
The Kolan accepts all Beth Tikvah members’ children in grades 1-8.
1. Kolan Alef will include grades 1-4.
2. Kolan Bet will include grades 5-8.
Rehearsals are held Sundays during the Religious School calendar year, usually in the Sanctuary.
1. Kolan Alef meets from 11:15 am – noon.
2. Kolan Bet meets from 10:00-10:40 am.

Parents may observe rehearsals at any time.
Some children might be asked to sing solos.
Children with instrumental skills might be asked to accompany the choirs.
No audition is required, although children in Kolan Bet (grades 5-8) would be expected to be able to sing in tune.
A registration form is required, but there is no additional fee.
Children may join in the middle of the school year in consultation with Cantor Ilana.
Parents with special skills are very welcome to contribute to the Kolan program.
