As a review of the year so far, the students played a game with which they are very familiar and helped them review the past year: Each team selected different images that previously appeared on our whiteboard over the course of the past year. One team had to describe to the other team what the drawing meant. They also had the option to bluff an answer or pass the drawing and turn to the other team. Points were awarded based on the choices and responses. Not only did students have a chance to review some of the material learned during prior class sessions, but, if they happened to miss a particular class session, they got to finally hear the information! Later, the students began our close look at a sibling relationship gone very, very bad. The Torah tells us very little about Cain and Abel, but the students are relating the various feelings those brothers might have had toward each other with other (less violent!) feelings they may have had during interactions with their own siblings and/or close friends. Then the students putting their own spins on a very ancient (but not really old) story...
