Dear Families,
We started our school year learning about how we celebrate the Jewish High Holidays (Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur). After learning about the High Holidays we prepared for two more holidays, Sukkot and Simchat Torah. We have learned about these holidays through stories, crafts, movement, snacks, etc. After learning about Simchat Torah, we started learning about the stories in the Torah starting with the very first one; Creation. We went onto learning about Noah’s Ark and we linked this story with the very important Jewish value of Tzaar Ba’alei Hayim, (Kindness to Animals). We will continue to learn about important Jewish values connected to holidays and Torah stories. If you have any questions, concerns, please contact me at dianne.hirsch@beth-tikvah.org.
