Summary |
We completed our unit on Gevurah (strength). We discussed the many different ways that people can demonstrate the value of Gevurah. Students listened to a short biography and watched some short videos to learn about the life of the famous Jewish American, world’s greatest magician, and son of a rabbi, Houdini. We discussed how more than physical strength, he had the inner strength, determination, and self-control that helped him overcome many challenges. We talked about how perseverance and hard work can help us achieve our goals. We also discussed how Gevurah means having the courage to stand up for what we believe in. Students performed skits similar to those on the television show, What Would You Do? Great discussion followed each skit!
