Rosh Hodesh (New Moon) – the start of each Hebrew month - has been observed by Jewish women for centuries. Our Rosh Hodesh group at Beth Tikvah offers a unique opportunity to engage spiritually with all who identify as women, age 18 years and over, as we explore the journeys of our lives as reflected through the rich treasury of Jewish stories, texts, and traditions. Due to the unique nature of Rosh Hodesh Gathering, only members of Beth Tikvah and Beth Tikvah Sisterhood are able to join this group. Thank you for understanding. Hodesh tov! May you have a good month! -
“Inside Comedy: The Soul, Wit, and Bite of Comedy and Comedians of the Last Five Decades” by David Steinberg. From David Steinberg, a rabbi's son from Winnipeg, Canada, a funny, moving, provocative, insightful look into the soul, wit, and bite of comedy and comedians--a universe unto itself--of the last half-century. Steinberg, through stories, reminiscences, tales of directing, touring, performing, and, through the comedians themselves talking (from more than 75 interviews), makes clear why he loves comedy and comedians who have been by his side in his work, and in his life, for more than sixty years.

Luckily, there may be a way to fix this and other problems when it’s time to vote: Ranked-Choice Voting (RCV). Our featured guest speaker Larry Garfield is a spokesperson and a board member of FairVote Illinois.
