Book Club "The English GI: World War 2 Graphic Memoir of a Yorkshire Schoolboy's Adventures in the United States and Europe" by Jonathan Sandler. Monday, July 10 7:00pm-8:00pm In September 1939, Britain declares war on Germany. Bernard Sandler, a 17-year-old schoolboy from Yorkshire, is on a school trip to the United States and consequently finds himself unable to return home, separated from his close-knit Jewish family in Britain. The book also follows the remarkable story of Bernard’s family in England, and the fate of his wider family in Latvia (whom he visited in an epic journey in 1937, also as a schoolboy), during this period. We will meet via Zoom
Rosh Hodesh Gathering: Wednesday, July 19 7:30pm-8:30pm Rosh Hodesh (New Moon) – the start of each Hebrew month - has been observed by Jewish women for centuries. Our Rosh Hodesh group at Beth Tikvah offers a unique opportunity to engage spiritually with all who identify as women, age 18 years and over, as we explore the journeys of our lives as reflected through the rich treasury of Jewish stories, texts, and traditions. Please note! Most events at Beth Tikvah welcome all who come. Due to the unique nature of Rosh Hodesh Gathering, only members of Beth Tikvah and Beth Tikvah Sisterhood are able to join this group. Thank you for understanding. Hodesh tov! May you have a good month!

Sign Up to Volunteer at Gan Tikvah 2023 Our Garden of Hope: May 7 through Sept 24. Once again in 2023 the BTC Social Action Committee will be planting Gan Tikvah, a vegetable garden to provide fresh produce to WINGS, an organization that provides housing, integrated services, education and advocacy to end domestic violence. This is a great way to personally help others who would not otherwise have fresh produce. Please use the Sign Up Genius to pick a date and time to help. We need anyone interested in helping the Gan Tivkah grow - No experience needed! We will teach you. This is a wonderful family activity, B’Mitzvah project and a good way to get to know our Beth Tikvah community.
