Beth Tikvah Congregation - Temple-wide Mask Guidelines Effective June 14
Dear Fellow Congregant:
As I have previously shared, one of my priorities as President of Beth Tikvah Congregation is to begin to regather again in-person safely and responsibly. As you likely know, Cook County moved to Phase Five this past Friday, June 11th. While this is encouraging news, along with the COVID-19 numbers continuing to decline in our area, risk is always present and we will continue to look to mitigate that risk for events held at Beth Tikvah Congregation.
In partnership with the Regathering Task Force (same as Reopening Task Force and the name change reflects our joy that we can gather together again in-person), the Executive Board, and the Board of Directors, I am sharing new mask guidelines for events at the building, which will take effect Monday, June 14th.
· For unvaccinated participants: o Indoor Events: Masks required o Outdoor events: Masks optional unless unable to keep proper social distancing (6 feet)
· For fully vaccinated participants: o Indoor Events with 15 People or Less: Masks optional o Indoor Events with Greater Than 15 People: Masks required o Outdoor Events: Masks optional
· For all who enter while ECC school/camp is in session: o Masks required · Religious School will share mask guidance as the beginning of school approaches · While this is the guidance for now, we anticipate this will evolve and continue to change in the coming months
I know there is no “right” answer here. I am encouraged by the consensus reached on the above from those involved. And while the updated mask guidance will be in effect for Beth Tikvah Congregation, I also know you must continue to do what is best for you and your personal/family situation. Now more than ever, as a Community, we remain committed to the words of Hillel, “Don’t judge your fellow human until you have reached that person’s place,” as well as Judaism’s Golden Rule, “you shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
