I hope that you have all enjoyed a wonderful Holiday Season celebrating with family and friends a joyous Chanukah and Happy New Year! May 2019 be a year of health, happiness, deep meaning and peace for all. There is so much to look forward to in the year ahead! We have the Congregational Retreat for starters…I hope you all signed up to join us! OSRUI is a magical place to spend some down time. We are thankful for the fabulous Retreat Committee led by Ruth Schlossberg and Pam Altman and their band of helpers who have been hard at work planning fun activities. Hope to see you all there!
I want to sincerely thank all the volunteers who worked so hard to make our Chanukah Lights & Miracles celebration so AMAZING! Starting with the delicious dinner with homemade latkes coordinated by Hollie Yanaga and her latke-making crew of helpers including Laury Kossoff, Ellen Rosenblum, Deb Bakal, Jon Citron, Renee Parrinello, Jodee Levy, Mike Myers, and our young decorators Shira and Ariana Hallaron to Rabbi and Ilana for the fun and musical service with Kol Tikvah, Kolan, Kol Shirah, and Klei Tikvah. There were so many folks who helped out too with setup, servicing, and cleanup. Thank you to all who made this happen!
And speaking of volunteers…have you ever wondered how all those wonderful programs that Beth Tikvah puts on actually happen? It’s because of YOU! The giving members of our community who have the ideas and give of themselves to put together a team of helpers to make these programs happen. Without these valuable volunteers and leaders, we would not be able to enjoy such wonderful events! Are you looking for something to get involved in? We have lots of committees you are welcome to join! We also have lots of singular events you can help with too, that are not a big time commitment if that is a concern. To find out more, you can look on the website www.beth-tikvah.org under Connect>Groups or Connect>Committees. On those links you will see who the committee chair is and be able to contact them via email to ask about getting involved. Another way is to talk to your friends and get a group together to do something or make new friends when you join in. Just Ask ME! Email me anytime at terrie.oday@beth-tikvah.org or stop by to have a cup of coffee and chat with me in the lobby during “Ask the President!,” held the second Sunday of the month from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. I look forward to talking with you soon!
Here’s to a FANTASTIC 2019!
B’shalom,
