Today we stand before the shofar to hear its voice-resilient and strong, proclaiming freedom, promising redemption. -Mishkan HaNefesh Machzor for the Days of Awe
In 5782 we look forward to High Holy Days that will be meaningful and memorable as we share special moments with family, friends & community. I pray that this season offers you a chance for reflection, rest, and rejuvenation. However you mark this sacred time, may these special days ahead be inspiring and fulfilling.
When this summer season began there was a cautious and hopeful movement in our lives that gained back our choices to regather with our family and friends. Filling in dates on our calendar, but perhaps still tentative. Looking ahead with some level of certainty that slowly we could and would continue to expand these perimeters with comfort and ease. Now the summer days are coming to a close and the High Holy Day season begins. Bits and pieces of what we all planned for the holidays have required change. The sweetness of the celebration is constant.
As we welcome in the New Year with the sound of the shofar, Beth Tikvah Congregation will worship as one community in-person and via live stream. Together on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur our voices will be one! Throughout this special season of holiness there will be many opportunities to gather together inside, outside and remotely. I look forward to celebrating with you, our Beth Tikvah family. May the sound of the shofar ring in a joyful year of strength, resilience, good health and blessings for us all.
Sara, Sylvie, Bayla and I join in wishing you a happy, healthy, sweet New Year.
